The RAC this Week (Feb 28th)

Dear Parents,

Congratulations to Erin Dvorak!  Our RAC 2020 T-shirt contest winner.  Soon you will see Erin's design on the 2020 RAC T-shirt. Thank you to all the kids that worked so hard on their designs. We had so many wonderful submissions this year. It was really hard to choose just one.

A big Thank you to Paul at Velofix North County for providing a bike maintenance seminar for our Youth Support.  In depth coverage of our "ABC's".  Youth Support Evan, Sophie, and Keaton changed their first tires without assistance and did an amazing job.
Paul is offering pre-RAC tuneups from $59-89 based on the condition of the bike.  Email Paul at: info.sd@velofix.com for more information.

You must complete at least 350 miles.  Don't stop at 350 miles!  The more you can ride the easier the RAC will be.  No need to update you numbers after you hit 350.

Don't forget to complete the attached SECNAV if you haven't already.  Day 3 of the RAC we will stop at the NAF El Centro base.  The document is required for all above the age of 18.  The Y safely stores the documentation until they submit all documents in person.  All Highlighted sections must be completed.  You can scan and email to amarrufo@ymca.org.

Looking Ahead…

  • The Escondido Hill Rides start in March. We offer eight. You must attend two. Please get these done early. These are mandatory and we sometimes have to cancel due to rain.

  • The required April meeting (Thursday, April 2 at 7 pm or Tuesday, April 7 at 7 pm; pick a date) is mandatory. Everyone planning on attending the RAC is expected to attend one. Sundance Elementary School.

As we get closer to the RAC, be sure to check out the Website.  There is a lot of helpful information about packing, Day One, the start location at the River, and most importantly - what you are responsible for.
